Indiana_GOlf_AssocCOLUMBUS – And then there were four. Locally, there are that many left in the 70-man field for the final two rounds of the Indiana State Open at Otter Creek Golf Club. The cut line at plus-six (150) axed nine of the 13 area golfers at the Open, but there is still life left for the quartet.

All four golfers, ironically enough, are all products of the Northern Lakes Conference. Warsaw teammates Jon Schram and Tyler Ostrom both have an outside chance of cracking the top 20 as Schram’s two-over Tuesday leaves him at three-over for the tournament. Ostrom matched his two-over 74 from Monday with an identical score Tuesday, leaving him a stroke behind Schram.

NorthWood graduate Brady Klotz also was two-over for Tuesday but sits at six over, which was the cut score while Wawasee graduate Stephen Conrad rallied from a five-over on day one to card an even 72 on day two, leaving him sitting at his day one total on the leaderboard.

Currently leading the field is Andy Winings of Fishers, whose incredible 64 Tuesday puts him at minus-13 for the tournament and three shots ahead of Craig Bowden of Bloomington, who turned in a 67 Tuesday. McCormick Clouser of Bluffton is at nine-under after turning in a 68 for day two.

Missing the cut Tuesday were Griffyn Carpenter of Bourbon (152); Jon Enfield of Goshen (153); Cody Richardson of Lagrange (154); Dylan Gessinger of Nappanee (155); Zach Gurtner of Bremen (155); Zach Hochstedler of New Paris (157); Keith Pasqualone of Elkhart (159); Caleb Rovenstine of Warsaw (165); and Brian Ulrich of Goshen (173).

The tournament will continue Wednesday and will conclude Thursday. Complete results for the tournament can be found here.
