WARSAW – The town may be big enough to hold both of them, but the roller derby teams will be branching out for several activities.
The Lake City Roller Dolls will be prominent at this weekend’s Mermaid Festival in North Webster. The Dolls will have a table set up throughout the festival, but will perform Thursday at 6 p.m. in a live demo. Saturday morning the Dolls will skate in the Mermaid Festival parade and later take part in a live scrimmage against several talented area skaters.
The next sanctioned bout scheduled for the Lake City Roller Dolls is July 19 in Fishers against the Circle City Roller Girls. The next home bout for the club is Sept. 20 against the visiting Southland Slashers at Hansen’s Eastlake Skate Center in Warsaw.
The Bone City Rollers will also be active this weekend as it takes to Columbus, Ind., for a bout against the Terrorz of Tiny Town. This is the third bout this season for the young team, which will host its first home bout of the season Sept. 6 against the Dire Skates. Bone City also call Hansen’s home.
Bone City are also planning a pair of community events, a bingo night July 12 as well as an August garage sale. Both events are still working through details.
